Autodesk programs are built for using 64 bit Windows.
So, you can run xforce on 64-bit windows without any problem.
Do you have updated service pack?
You may need it for your OS to detect xforce.exe.

Q:

How to get the type of the object passed to the method

I’m in need of the type of the object I pass to a method. I’m not sure if it’s possible to do it.
This is what I did so far
public interface IValueResolver {
T GetValue(Expression> expr);
}

// I need to know the value’s type here
public static T GetValueType(Expression> expr) where T : new()
{
// I’m stuck here
}

public static class ValueResolver
{
public static object GetValue(Expression> expr)
{
// do some stuff
}

public static object GetValue(Expression> expr)
{
// do some stuff
}

public static object GetValue(Expression> expr)
{
// do some stuff
}
}

A:

You could get the type of the expression and then use it as base type:
public static Type GetValueType(Expression> expr) where T : new()
{
var body = expr.Body as MemberExpression;
return body.Type;
}

But this is more O(N) than O(1). You would need to iterate all the methods of the given expression in order to get the type of every expression used within them, which is rather unfriendly.
